1980: It all began in a small facility in the ducal city of Gandía in 1980.

It all began in small premises in the ducal town of Gandía in 1980. Its founder, Don Enrique Catalá Catalá, inspired by the passion and knowledge of fragrances, is dedicated to creating and marketing essences.

1998: Esencias Catalá reflects a great growth at national level, and decides to move to new facilities in the industrial area of Gandía.

2000: A new generation of professionals takes over, creating new business areas.

2015: Esencias Catalá modernises its facilities, merges its brands and adopts a single identity "ESSENTIAL COMPOSITIONS".

2017: Expansion of production and manufacturing facilities

Expansion of production and manufacturing facilities, logistics and new loading bays to cope with demand.

2018: Installation of new liquid dosing robot completed

The installation of the new liquid dosing robot is completed and we triple the productivity of the automated area in its first month of operation. This consists of three different sections GECKO, CAMELEON and COLIBRÍ which have been designed and manufactured in a customised way by Contexa S.A.

2020: New solutions and fragrances. Growth despite COVID-19

Despite the situation experienced worldwide in the face of COVID-19, the limitations, the shortage of raw materials or the recessions experienced, at Essential we were able to focus, directing our efforts towards sectors that we understood that the end customer needed. Consolidating our know-how in growing sectors such as air fresheners, detergents and home care.

2022: Expansion of office facilities.

Expansion of office, R&D, laboratory and production facilities and start of digital transformation project. We managed to optimise resources, improve competitiveness, add value to our services and improve the customer experience. It also implies a change at an organisational cultural level, significantly improving the transversality of the company.
